Umesh Kumar, co-founder and CEO of Runable. <\/em><\/p>\n

New Delhi [India], October 30: <\/strong>Umesh Kumar<\/strong> was building companies well before Runable<\/strong>, the AI startup he now runs with co-founder Saksham Sarda<\/strong>. His path began in a village in Haryana<\/strong>, went through computer science studies at IIT Roorkee<\/strong>, and included an education technology venture that Bodhi AI<\/strong> went on to acquire.<\/p>\n

Kumar started formal coaching for the Joint Entrance Examination in Class 12<\/strong>. After about a year of preparation, he won a place in IIT Roorkee\u2019s Computer Science and Engineering programme<\/strong>. At university, he began spotting problems that software could solve, and learning what it takes to build a business around the answer.<\/p>\n

In 2020<\/strong> he co-founded SkoolStream<\/strong>, a platform that helped coaching institutes and teachers run their operations online. The work put him in a market where technology only succeeds if it fits how educators actually work day to day.<\/p>\n

In March 2022<\/strong>, EdTechReview<\/strong> reported that Bodhi AI had acquired SkoolStream<\/strong>. It was an early milestone for Kumar: a company he started during his university years had become a product someone else wanted to buy.<\/p>\n

At Runable<\/strong>, Kumar has moved from education technology into helping small businesses grow with AI<\/strong>. He is co-founder and CEO<\/strong>, and Sarda<\/strong> leads the technology side as CTO<\/strong>. The company announced a $21 million Series A in 2026<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Runable brings website creation, publishing and business workflows<\/strong> onto one platform. Its Grow offering<\/strong> extends into activities after launch, including marketing and recurring business tasks<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The move from SkoolStream to Runable<\/strong> is a step up in scale and technology, but the core interest hasn\u2019t changed: software that helps people run a business<\/em>. For Kumar, the next chapter is about whether AI can help small teams take on work that would otherwise require more people and specialist skills<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
